Bishkek, Jan. 20, 2026 /Kabar/. The epidemiological situation for influenza and acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) in Kyrgyzstan remains stable and corresponds to the expected seasonal incidence rate, the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance reported.
According to operational data, 15,869 cases of ARVI and influenza were registered nationwide during the third week of 2026, from January 12 to January 18. This represents an increase of 28.8 percent compared to the previous week.
Children under the age of 14 accounted for 76.7 percent of the total cases, or 12,167 reported infections. A total of 2,759 patients, or 17.4 percent of cases, required hospitalization.
Sentinel surveillance for severe acute respiratory infections (SARI) and influenza-like illnesses (ILI) continues in the cities of Bishkek, Osh, and Tokmok.
