Issyk-Kul, July 31, 2026. /Kabar/. The first training runs of the Formula 1 on Water (F1H2O) World Powerboating Championship have begun on Issyk-Kul lake.

From July 31 to August 2, Issyk-Kul will host the first F1H2O World Championship stage in Central Asia. The competition will feature top pilots from around the world.

According to Eduard Kubatov, Director of the State Agency for Tourism Development, all infrastructure for the international tournament is fully prepared. A modern international event zone, designed to accommodate 10,000 spectators, was created within two months, and all the necessary technical conditions for hosting a world-class competition were in place.

"This is a historic event not only for Kyrgyzstan and Issyk-Kul, but for all of Central Asia. This is the first time the Formula 1 World Championship on water is being held in our region," Kubatov stated.

It's worth noting that undisputed world boxing champion Dmitry Bivol is one of the championship's ambassadors.
