Bishkek, July 16, 2026. /Kabar/. Final road preparation work is underway on the new Balykchy-Kochkor railway, Kyrgyz Temir Zholu reports.
According to the information, in order to ensure the efficiency and additional safety of train movement, the railway is currently carrying out road leveling, sleeper rolling and final finishing work using a modern VPO-S machine for the first time.
This equipment was temporarily put into operation by the "Kazakhstan Temir Zholu" Joint Stock Company.
"The use of specialized equipment will allow us to carry out a full range of works on leveling the railway, tamping sleepers and final ensuring the stability of the track. These works are one of the final stages of the construction of a new railway line," the report says.
As noted in the report, the use of high-performance equipment will ensure the geometric accuracy of the railway, increase the safety of future train traffic, and also significantly improve the quality and speed of construction work.
The total length of the new Balykchy - Kochkor railway is 63.4 kilometers. Currently, the construction of this section and the two-story building of the Kochkor station is being completed.
