Bishkek, July 24, 2026 /Kabar/. During the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev of Kyrgyzstan met with Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov of Uzbekistan.
According to the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry, the parties discussed current issues of Kyrgyz-Uzbek cooperation and prospects for further strengthening collaboration in both bilateral and multilateral formats. Particular attention was paid to preparations for the state visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kyrgyzstan.
The ministers noted the steady positive dynamics of cooperation in trade, economic, transport, cultural, and humanitarian spheres. They reaffirmed their readiness to intensify joint work to implement the agreements reached at the highest level in the interests of the peoples of the two countries.
Furthermore, Jeenbek Kulubaev and Bakhtiyor Saidov exchanged views on key regional and international issues, discussed security matters, and cooperation within international and regional organizations.
