In Kyrgyzstan, special attention will be paid to environmental compliance during the UIM F1H2O World Championship, Eduard Kubatov, Director of the State Agency for Tourism Development, told Kabar News Agency.
According to him, these competitions have been held since 1981. Twenty-five athletes will participate in the current stage of the water race. The tournament will be broadcast live in 100 countries.
Approximately 10,000 tourists are expected to visit Kyrgyzstan to watch this sporting event. Overall, Formula 1 has an audience of approximately 800 million fans worldwide.
Eduard Kubatov noted that the environmental standards and international regulations of this competition, which has been held for decades, are extremely high.
"The international requirements of the United Nations are strictly observed in Formula 1 on water competitions. If these races were detrimental to the environment, they would not be held in Shanghai, Sydney, North America, Italy, or Jeddah. If they were environmentally harmful, they simply would not be allowed to take place. Formula 1 powerboating is one of the largest championships in the world. For the first time in history, these competitions will be held in Issyk-Kul. Lake Issyk-Kul will become famous in 100 countries. Not a single drop of fuel will enter the water. A special commission and expert assessment will be working to ensure compliance with environmental requirements. We will collaborate with UN experts. "If the commission's decision is negative, we are prepared to stop the race," he stated.
Therefore, Eduard Kubatov noted that spreading false information about Formula 1 racing and causing public panic is wrong.
"If we don't hold such major projects in Kyrgyzstan, how will we develop? A special team will be working on the lake, and two boats will be provided for rapid response. In the event of an emergency during the race, if the boats collide, they will be quickly brought to shore. The boats are equipped with two independent, environmentally friendly systems, both activated in the event of a collision. A special air cushion safety system is also used to prevent flooding. Thus, high-level safety technologies are used in the competition," he said.
According to Eduard Kubatov, the international federation organizing the tournament has held over 200 events worldwide. He also expressed the opinion that in ten years, a participant from Kyrgyzstan could appear in the race, which would be a significant achievement for the country. It's worth noting that Kyrgyzstan will host the UIM F1H2O World Championship. This international sporting event is planned for Issyk-Kul.
The Formula 1 Powerboat World Championship will be held in Central Asia for the first time. It is noted that hosting the competition will showcase Kyrgyzstan's tourism and investment potential to a global audience
