Bishkek, Oct. 29, 2026 /Kabar/. At the Torugart checkpoint, the average time required to complete all types of state control provided all necessary documentation is approximately 10 minutes, the State Customs Service reports.

To increase the checkpoint's throughput capacity, the sequence of customs procedures was revised, redundant steps were eliminated, and six lanes dedicated to freight transport were put into operation in July 2026.

Additionally, an "Intelligent Checkpoint" system has been implemented. It manages the movement of trucks within the facility from their arrival to directing them into the appropriate lanes and guiding them through control procedures. This allows for a more even distribution of traffic flows and reduces the risk of vehicle congestion.

According to the Customs Service’s information system, an average of approximately 359 trucks passed through Torugart daily during the first half of 2026, while in October, that figure reached 538. Consequently, freight traffic has increased by approximately 50%.

"The measures taken are aimed at reducing the time required for control procedures, minimizing delays, and enhancing the efficiency of processing freight transport across the customs border," the statement says.
