Bishkek, July 24, 2026 /Kabar/. Today, in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev held a bilateral meeting with Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting took place within the framework of the meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states.
During the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues of Kyrgyz-Tajik cooperation and further steps to implement the agreements reached at highest levels.
Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the decisions of the first meeting of the Kyrgyz-Tajik Intergovernmental Council, the development of trade, economic and transport cooperation, the demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border, as well as cooperation in the consular, water management and cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The heads of foreign ministries positively assessed the steady development of bilateral relations and confirmed their readiness to continue close coordination on the practical implementation of the agreements reached.
The ministers also exchanged views on topical issues of the regional and international agenda, security and interaction within the framework of the UN, SCO, CIS and CSTO.
As a result of the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening Kyrgyz-Tajik relations in the spirit of friendship, good neighborliness and mutual respect.
