Bishkek, Sept. 7, 2026 /Kabar/. Gulya Kozhokulova, member of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense, Security, and Migration of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, has been appointed coordinator of the international observer group from the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly for the Russian State Duma elections. This was announced by the press service of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat.
The corresponding order was signed by Valentina Matviyenko, Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council and Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. The international observer group will include representatives of the parliaments of the IPA CIS member states, officials of the Assembly, and experts from the IPA CIS International Institute for Monitoring Democracy Development.
Election observation will be conducted at the invitation of Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
Elections to the ninth State Duma will be held September 18–20, 2026. A total of 450 deputies will be elected: 225 from single-mandate constituencies and another 225 from party lists.
