Nicolo di San Germano, President of H2O Racing and Head of the UIM F1H2O World Championship, stated at a press conference in Bayet village, Issyk-Kul region that environmental protection and the rational use of water resources are among the key principles of the competition.
He noted that the championship has been implementing its own program to achieve carbon neutrality for many years.
"We began working on the carbon neutrality program many years ago, when it was not yet a mandatory requirement. We did this because we believe this is the only correct approach. We encourage all organizers to hold competitions in compliance with carbon neutrality principles, and we adhere to this policy at all stages of the championship worldwide. This is the responsibility of each of us,” he emphasized.
According to di San Germano, water and air are the foundations of life, so careful management of them should be an absolute priority for both competition organizers and society as a whole.
“We love water because it is our element. We treat it with the utmost respect and understand the importance of doing everything possible to ensure our activities do not harm it. Everyone should understand the need for a sustainable approach to natural resources, especially water,” noted the head of H2O Racing.
He also noted that the championship is also implementing its own humanitarian initiatives. In particular, the organization has financed the construction of wells in African countries where residents are experiencing severe shortages of drinking water.
“Environmental responsibility remains one of the fundamental principles of the UIM F1H2O World Championship and will remain an important part of its activities alongside the development of international powerboating,” he said.
