Bishkek, Nov. 12, 2025. /Kabar/. A hepatitis B vaccination campaign is underway in Kyrgyzstan.
According to the Republican Immunoprophylaxis Center of the Kyrgyz Republic, every citizen can get vaccinated free of charge.
After completing the full course of vaccination, long-term immunity (for at least 10 years) is developed, which protects against hepatitis B infection, including through dental procedures, manicures, and other contact with blood, the report said.
Hepatitis B is an infection of the liver caused by the hepatitis B virus. The infection can be acute (short and severe) or chronic (long term). Hepatitis B can cause a chronic infection and puts people at high risk of death from cirrhosis and liver cancer.
