Bishkek, Aug. 12, 2026. /Kabar/. Starting October 1, the insurance portion of pensions in Kyrgyzstan will be increased by 20%, and the minimum pension nationwide will be no less than 8,800 soms. Zhenishbek Mukambetov, head of the Social Fund's public relations department told Kabar.
According to him, President Sadyr Zhaparov signed the corresponding decree on increasing pensions on August 10, and the indexation is being carried out in accordance with Article 7 of the Law "On State Pension Social Insurance."
This year, the insurance portion of pensions will be increased by 20%. The minimum increase is set at 1,000 soms, and the maximum is 10,000 soms. For example, if the insurance portion of a pension is 10,000 soms, 2,000 soms will be added. The insurance portion of 15,000 soms will be supplemented by 3,000 soms, and the pension of 20,000 soms will be supplemented by 4,000 soms.
"Pensioners receiving 7,100 soms will receive an additional 1,700 soms, bringing their pension to 8,800 soms. Those receiving 7,500 soms will receive an additional 1,300 soms. For those receiving pensions over 7,800 soms, the insurance portion will be calculated at 20%, but the additional payment will be no less than 1,000 soms," Mukambetov said.
Therefore, after October 1, the minimum pension will be no less than 8,800 soms. The pensions of citizens reaching retirement age and retiring for the first time, provided they meet the established requirements, will also be automatically increased to this amount.
According to the Social Fund, the pension increase will apply to all categories of pensioners. Furthermore, the insurance portion of the survivor's pension will also be increased.
