Bishkek, Sept. 9 /Kabar/. The official opening ceremony of the international Issyk-Kul Games took place in the Issyk-Kul region on August 8, the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports of Kyrgyzstan reported.

According to the agency, its director, Urmat Asanbaev, took part in the opening ceremony.

The international games feature competitions in 21 sports. In addition to Kyrgyzstan, athletes from Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Lithuania, Germany, the USA, Iran, Korea, and Mongolia are participating.

Athletes are competing for top honors across various sports disciplines.

The competitions are scheduled to run until September 12.
