Bishkek, July 27, 26. /Kabar/. A forum of media and think tank leaders from Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states is taking place in Bishkek, organized by the Kyrgyz National News Agency "Kabar" jointly with the Chinese news agency "Xinhua."
The event is timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the SCO, which Kyrgyzstan chairs this year.
According to Mederbek Shermetaliev, Director of Kabar News Agency, approximately 200 delegates from 25 countries are participating in the forum.
He stated that participants will discuss key challenges facing the modern media sphere, including the development of digital technologies, cybersecurity, the use of artificial intelligence, countering disinformation and fake news, and ensuring information security within the SCO.
"We are proud that such a prestigious event is being held in Kyrgyzstan. I am confident that the forum will yield useful ideas and proposals," he noted.
Shermetaliev emphasized that the main goal of the meeting will be the exchange of experience between leading media executives and experts from SCO countries. No documents are planned to be signed following the summit; the main outcome will be professional dialogue and the exchange of best practices.
According to the head of Kabar, despite the differences in approaches to reporting in different countries, such platforms allow journalists to learn from each other's successful experiences. In particular, Kyrgyz specialists are ready to share their experience using artificial intelligence in journalism and discuss the prospects for introducing new technologies into the media sphere.
