Bishkek, Feb. 11, 2026. /Kabar/. Work within the framework of the “Construction of Kambarata-1 HPP” project with a total capacity of 1,860 MW is proceeding steadily according to the planned schedule, Ministry of Energy reports.
According to the information, preparatory work for the construction of the hydroelectric power station is currently underway. These include infrastructure work such as laying power lines, building a town for workers, and constructing bridges and roads.
To date, the following main works have been completed:
- 8.6-kilometer road from the 318th kilometer of the Bishkek-Osh highway to Prorez No. 2 has been completely completed, and acceptance of the facility is underway;
- 4.7-kilometer road from Prorez No. 2 to the Kambar-Ata-1 HPP, 4 kilometers (95 percent) have been completed;
- drilling and concrete works in the 126-meter-long TT-2 transport tunnel have been fully completed, and the facility is at the acceptance stage with 100 percent readiness;
- 11.5 kilometers of 110 kV overhead power lines have been fully laid, and 25 poles have been installed. The main work on the 110/6 kV substation is 90 percent complete;
- the construction of an administrative building, dormitory, canteen and additional facilities for 100 people has been completed by 60–70 percent;
- four concrete piers of the bridge over the Naryn River to the right bank of the hydroelectric power station have been fully completed, and metal structures are currently being installed. The overall readiness is 50–60 percent;
- as part of the construction and installation work for the TT-2 tunnel for the operational period, 1,387 meters of concrete road have been fully completed, and internal structural work is ongoing.
The level of readiness is 55–60 percent.
