Kasymaliev receives honorary doctorate of St. Petersburg State University of Economics

Bishkek, June 19, 2026 /Kabar/. As part of his working visit to the Russian Federation, Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers delivered a guest lecture at the St. Petersburg State University of Economics on the topic of "Kyrgyzstan's economic achievements and the current development of Kyrgyz-Russian relations." In his speech, Adylbek Kasymaliev noted that this institution of higher education is associated with important chapters in his life and professional development.

" I formed my understanding of economic processes, the role of public administration, and the importance of international cooperation in the development of states and societies in these classrooms forty-five years ago," he said.

During a meeting with the university's faculty and students, the chairman discussed the current state and prospects of trade and economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.

Concluding his speech, he addressed the students, noting that the knowledge they had acquired not only lays the foundation for their professional careers but also shapes the future of states, societies, and the entire Eurasian region.

"It is you, future civil servants, managers, economists, and specialists in various industries, who will make decisions that will largely determine the development of our states, the effectiveness of our economies, and the well-being of our citizens," Kasymaliev said.

It is worth noting that prior to his lecture, Adylbek Kasymaliev was awarded the title of Honorary Doctor of the St. Petersburg State University of Economics. The chairman expressed gratitude to the university's leadership and Academic Council.

For reference: Adylbek Kasymaliev graduated from St. Petersburg State University with a degree in Economics in 1984.
