Bishkek, July 27, 2026. /Kabar/. Today, media outlets and think tanks are important players in shaping public opinion, developing intercultural dialogue, and strengthening trust between states. Subhiddin Shamsiddinzod, Director of the National Information Agency of Tajikistan "Khovar," told at 2026 SCO Media and Think Tank Forum.
He noted that holding such a forum creates an important platform for the exchange of opinions and experiences between representatives of the media and expert community of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization countries.
According to Shamsiddinzoda, in today's world, global challenges can only be addressed through joint efforts, respect for the interests of all states, and strengthening mutual trust.
He emphasized that the principles of justice, equality, and respect for international law are important foundations for the development of international relations and play a significant role in the activities of the SCO.
"The Shanghai Cooperation Organization has emerged as one of the most significant examples of multilateral cooperation, uniting states with different cultures, histories, and approaches to development," noted the head of the Khovar news agency.
He also emphasized Tajikistan's contribution to strengthening peace and stability, developing international cooperation, and promoting initiatives aimed at sustainable development and security.
Speaking about the role of the media, Subhiddin Shamsiddinzoda noted that journalism today not only serves an informational function but also promotes dialogue between peoples.
"Professional, objective, and reliable coverage of events helps shape balanced public opinion, strengthen information diplomacy, and promote the values of mutual respect and cooperation," he stated. According to him, the National News Agency of Tajikistan, Khovar, pays special attention to covering SCO activities, preparing analytical materials, and developing information exchanges with foreign partners.
He expressed confidence that further cooperation between media outlets and think tanks in SCO countries will contribute to strengthening mutual understanding and expanding humanitarian ties between the countries.
