Kumtor's net profit exceeds $1.2 bln since nationalization

Bishkek, Feb. 3, 2025 /Kabar/. From May 2021 to December 2024, from the introduction of external management with the subsequent transfer of the Kumtor mine to the ownership of the Kyrgyz Republic, more than 54 tons of gold were produced, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kumtor Gold Company Bolotbek Idirisov told.

"Net profit for this period amounted to more than $1.2 billion. In the period from May 2021 to December last year, $891.6 million was paid to the Kyrgyz Republic in the form of taxes and other payments to the state budget. Now we are facing no less ambitious tasks, which we will work together to achieve," he emphasized.

Members of the Board of Directors of the company also inspected the work process at the Kumtor mine. In particular, they visited quarries, got acquainted with the progress of the project for underground gold ore mining, the work of the workshop for repairing heavy mining equipment, the gold extraction plant and the fuel and refueling complex, the condition of the treatment facilities and tailings storage facility.
