Bishkek, June 30, 2026. /Kabar/. Deputy Chairman of Cabinet of Ministers - Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan Erlist Akunbekov met with US Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Leslie Viguerie.
During the meeting, the parties discussed bilateral cooperation in trade and economic matters, paying particular attention to the agricultural sector.
The meeting participants noted the importance of further developing cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the United States in promising and mutually beneficial areas.
Particular attention was paid to increasing agricultural exports from Kyrgyzstan. Specifically, they discuss measures to assist domestic producers in entering the US market, including certification, compliance with phytosanitary regulations, quality standards, and packaging.
The parties emphasized that equipping the industry with modern equipment and technology is essential to achieving these goals.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain close contacts in this area.
