Bishkek, April 18, 2025. /Kabar/. On April 16, 2025, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Turkiye Ruslan Kazakbaev met with Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Turkiye Katsumata Takahiko.
During the conversation, Ambassador Ruslan Kazakbaev noted that the leadership of the Kyrgyz Republic attaches great importance to the development of friendly and mutually beneficial relations with Japan, and also highly appreciates the current state of bilateral cooperation.
Separately, gratitude was expressed for the positive reaction and official statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan in connection with the signing of the agreement on the state border between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan.
The parties discussed bilateral Kyrgyz-Japanese relations in various areas of mutual interest.
Particular attention was paid to interaction between the countries within the framework of international organizations, in particular the UN.
Ambassador Ruslan Kazakbaev informed his counterpart in detail about the global mountain initiatives of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as about the nomination of the Kyrgyz Republic as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2027-2028.
At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador thanked the Japanese side for the friendly conversation and expressed hope for further strengthening of the bilateral partnership.
