Bishkek, Sept. 24, 2026 /Kabar/. Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan, met with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on the sidelines of the 5th Global Digital Trade Expo during his working visit to Hangzhou, China.
During the meeting, the parties noted Anwar Ibrahim's official visit to Kyrgyzstan in 2024 and the official visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Zhaparov, to Malaysia in 2025. The sides emphasized the importance of ensuring the practical implementation of the agreements reached. During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on the development of Kyrgyz-Malaysian cooperation and prospects for enhancing collaboration in the trade-economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev noted that mutual trade turnover had increased nearly sixfold last year. In this context, he proposed jointly exploring additional opportunities to diversify and expand bilateral trade, including by strengthening ties between government agencies and the business communities of both countries. The head of the Cabinet also proposed resuming the work of the Special Kyrgyz-Malaysian Joint Commission.
For his part, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim expressed readiness to further strengthen bilateral cooperation across all areas of mutual interest.
