Bishkek, April 22, 2026. /Kabar/. Mirbek Mambetaliev, Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan met Khaled Al-Anani, Director-General of UNESCO in Paris.
According to the ministry, Mirbek Mambetaliev paid a working visit to UNESCO headquarters on April 20-21. During the meeting, certificate was presented for the inclusion of the traditional knowledge of making the Kyrgyz drink "Maksym" on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The parties discussed prospects for expanding cultural cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and UNESCO. The minister expressed gratitude for the support of the 6th World Nomad Games.
The meetings also addressed issues related to the World Heritage sites of Sulaiman-Too and Western Tien Shan.
The visit was part of meeting of the UNESCO Executive Board, bilateral meetings were held with representatives of foreign countries aimed at developing cultural dialogue and implementing joint initiatives.
