Bishkek, April 8, 2025. /Kabar/. During a working visit to New York, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev met with United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
The Foreign Ministry reported that during the meeting, Kulubaev expressed support for the UN's efforts to ensure international peace and security, as well as to address global socio-economic and climate challenges.
Minister Kulubaev reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan's commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals and spoke about the country's key priorities, such as promoting the mountain agenda, developing a green economy and protecting the environment. In this regard, the Kyrgyz minister expressed a request for UN support in further promoting these issues in the international arena.
In addition, Kulubaev briefed the UN Secretary General about the political transformations taking place in Central Asia, as well as on the joint efforts of the countries of the region aimed at strengthening peace and stability. The parties also considered the prospects for further interaction and deepening cooperation within the UN, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a constructive dialogue to overcome existing differences, which is the main condition for ensuring stability and progress in international relations in the current conditions.
Also, during the visit to New York, Minister Kulubaev met with representatives of the Group of Landlocked Developing Countries and the African Union countries.
During the talks, the minister presented the key priorities of Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy, processes in the Central Asian region, emphasizing the country's commitment to the principles of international cooperation, sustainable development and regional integration. The parties exchanged views on topical issues on the global and regional agenda.
