Bishkek, Jan.28, 2025. /Kabar/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev received Ularbek Sharsheyev on Tuesday.
Sharsheyev has assumed the duties of Director of the Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO RATS) from Jan.1, 2025.
Kulubaev congratulated his interlocutor on appointment to the responsible position and emphasized that the Kyrgyz Republic attaches special importance to the activities of the SCO RATS, the press service of the Foreign Ministry said.
The minister noted the key role of the structure as one of the permanent bodies of the SCO, contributing to the coordination of efforts of the member states in the fight against terrorism, extremism and separatism.
The SCO RATS director expressed gratitude for the support and informed Kulubaev about the current priorities and work plans for the nearest period.
The sides discussed topical issues related to strengthening cooperation within the SCO, as well as opportunities to deepen interaction between the Organization's member states.
The meeting emphasized the mutual readiness for effective interaction to ensure regional security and stability.
