Bishkek, July 27, 2026 /Kabar/. Every citizen of Kyrgyzstan can receive the hepatitis B vaccine free of charge. The Republican center for health promotion and mass communication under the Healthcare ministry reminds.

According to the center, to receive the vaccine, people must contact their local Family Medicine Center and receive a referral for a rapid test. They must then undergo a rapid test for hepatitis B. If hepatitis B is detected, vaccination is not performed. If hepatitis is not detected, people must receive a referral for vaccination and then receive the hepatitis B vaccine. The center clarifies that testing and vaccination are free.

After completing the full course of vaccination, long-term immunity (for at least 10 years) is developed, which protects against infection with the hepatitis B virus, including during dental procedures, manicures, and other contact with blood.
