Bishkek, Oct. 7, 2025. /Kabar/. On October 7, Kyrgyz Minister of Labor, Social Security, and Migration Kanatbek Sagynbaev met with US Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Leslie Viguerie.
According to the ministry, the parties discussed cooperation in combating human trafficking and strengthening joint efforts to protect vulnerable groups. Particular attention was paid to the reintegration and repatriation of Kyrgyz women and children returned from armed conflict zones in Syria. Kanatbek Sagynbaev emphasized the importance of partnership with international organizations and the US government in protecting human rights, as well as providing social and psychological assistance to women and children affected by extremist groups.
In turn, Ambassador Leslie Viguerie expressed the US side's readiness to continue supporting Kyrgyzstan in implementing programs to combat human trafficking and the social rehabilitation of returnees.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their intention to strengthen cooperation and develop joint initiatives aimed at protecting human rights and promoting social sustainability.
