Bishkek, Oct. 27, 2026 /Kabar/. Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision Akyl Toktobaev paid a working visit to the Kutessay-II and Kalesay deposits, located in the Kemin dstrict of Chui region, the relevant ministry reports.

During the visit, the minister outlined priority areas and defined future tasks for organizing and conducting geological exploration, improving its efficiency, and ensuring the timely achievement of set objectives.

In line with the minister’s directives, specialists from the state-owned enterprise "Kyrgyzgeology" promptly began developing the necessary solutions.

Particular attention is being paid to optimizing the organization of drilling operations, enhancing the quality of geological study at the deposits, ensuring the rational use of technical and material resources, and adhering to established project timelines.

To date, 3,000 linear meters of geological boreholes have been drilled as part of the ongoing exploration work, and more than 1,500 samples have been collected for subsequent laboratory analysis.

Background: The Kutessay-II and Kalesay deposits are situated at an altitude ranging from 2,000 to 2,800 meters above sea level. The primary mineral resources include rare-earth elements, polymetals, and beryllium.

Drilling operations are currently actively underway at these sites, aimed at conducting a detailed study of the geological structure, evaluating ore occurrences, and determining the potential for the further development of Kyrgyzstan’s mineral resource base.
