Bishkek, Sept.24, 2026 /Kabar/. Today, the Jogorku Kenesh adopted a resolution scheduling the next presidential election in Kyrgyzstan. According to the document, the presidential election will take place on January 27, 2027.
Eighty-six deputies voted in favor of the draft resolution; there were no votes against it.
Jogorku Kenesh Speaker Marlen Mamataliev noted that scheduling the election for a Wednesday is intended to boost citizen participation in the vote. According to him, higher voter turnout increases the ability to prevent corrupt schemes involving vote-buying.
