Kyrgyz parliamentary committee approves draft law on renewable energy

Bishkek, March 10, 2026. /Kabar/. The Jogorku Kenesh Committee on Industrial Policy, Transport, Fuel and Energy Complex, Architecture and Construction at its regular meeting reviewed and approved the draft law "On Amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Electricity" in second reading.

The initiator of the draft law is the Cabinet of Ministers.

The draft law is aimed at developing the industry and attracting investment by increasing the capacity limit of renewable energy facilities from 30 MW to 50 MW. This will facilitate the implementation of more effective, economically sustainable and modern technological projects that are consistent with international experience, as well as the country's strategic goals in the field of "green" economy and energy security.
