Bishkek, Sept. 25, 2026 /Kabar/. On September 24, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Marlen Mamataliev met with Ambassador of Qatar to Kyrgyzstan, Ali Jaber Al-Ghofran Al-Marri, the parliament's press service reported.
During the meeting, the parties discussed expanding political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties between Kyrgyzstan and Qatar and exchanged views on the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Marlen Mamataliev noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1998, the partnership between the two countries has been developing steadily, with political interaction, in particular, being strengthened.
He emphasized his interest in further expanding inter-parliamentary ties, holding joint events, stepping up the activities of parliamentary friendship groups, and organizing bilateral visits. The speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh also conveyed greetings to the Chairman of Qatar’s Shura Council, Hassan bin Abdullah Al-Ghanim, and invited him to pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan.
In turn, Ali Jaber Al-Ghufran Al-Marri thanked Marlen Mamataliev for the warm welcome and the support provided. The Ambassador noted that Kyrgyzstan is one of Qatar's key partners in the region and emphasized the need for close cooperation in developing inter-parliamentary ties.
Furthermore, the parties discussed the development of trade relations and the continued implementation of projects in the humanitarian sphere.
