Kyrgyz Speaker Marlen Mamataliev met with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari

Bishkek, July 9, 2026 /Kabar/. On July 8, Speaker of Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament) Marlen Mamataliev met with President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari at Ala-Archa State Residence.

The parties discussed the development of political, economic, cultural, humanitarian, and interparliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

Speaker Marlen Mamataliev noted that important issues were discussed during the regular meeting between the heads of Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan and expressed confidence that the agreements reached will contribute to the further strengthening of the partnership between the two countries.

Marlen Mamataliev emphasized that the economic goals set for the two countries must receive the full support of their parliaments. Furthermore, he emphasized the need to intensify joint work in the areas of education, healthcare, the digital economy, and investment protection.

In turn, President Asif Ali Zardari noted that his official visit to Kyrgyzstan was proving very productive and briefly outlined the talks held during his visit.

At the same time, he emphasized the importance of further developing interstate relations through interparliamentary cooperation, noting that interaction between legislative bodies will significantly support the implementation of the agreements reached.

"We are interested in developing cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in all areas, as well as strengthening interparliamentary ties. I am confident that today's meeting will contribute to the further expansion of our relations," said President Asif Ali Zardari.

Finally, the parties exchanged views on joint initiatives and projects and discussed proposals for further expanding bilateral cooperation.
