Bishkek, Oct. 6, 2026 /Kabar/. On October 5, the Speaker of Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament), Marlen Mamataliev received Ramil Hasan, the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA).
According to Kyrgyz Parliament, the meeting focused on the further development of inter-parliamentary cooperation within the framework of TURKPA, as well as the upcoming Assembly sessions scheduled to take place in Bishkek on October 19–20.
Speaker Marlen Mamataliev noted the Jogorku Kenesh's interest in developing established cooperation with the parliaments of fraternal states, stating: "Extensive preparations are underway for the meetings in Bishkek. This is because TURKPA sessions serve as an important platform that strengthens interstate relations alongside fostering dialogue between parliaments."
At the same time, the speaker shared proposals aimed at improving the Assembly's operations and developing practical mechanisms for inter-parliamentary cooperation, while also addressing the status of model legislation development. Particular emphasis was placed on the need to enhance mechanisms for monitoring the implementation of laws adopted within the framework of TURKPA.
For his part, Secretary General Ramil Hasan provided a brief overview of TURKPA’s activities and shared information regarding the organization of the meeting in Bishkek.
He addressed both substantive and organizational matters and discussed the work being done to expand inter-parliamentary cooperation among fraternal nations.
