Bishkek, Aug. 26, 2026. /Kabar/. Only national unity will lead the country to development. Marlen Mamataliev, Speaker of Jogorku Kenesh(Kyrgyz Parliament), spoke in his interview with Kabar.
Kyrgyz speaker noted that over the years, it was unity that has preserved our nation, adding that President Sadyr Zhaparov also emphasized the importance of unity in the country at the opening ceremony of the Yrys Ordo State Congress Center.
"It's not for nothing that the Kyrgyz people say: 'Prosperity begins with unity.' If we look at any difficult period, it was precisely unity that preserved our people, precisely unity that saved us from extinction.
In his speech, the president noted that every citizen's contribution matters, regardless of their past. Whether they have a clean record, were imprisoned and later acquitted, or still bear the stigma of a criminal conviction, anyone who has held a public position over the last 35 years has contributed to the nation’s history.
Ultimately, we are all citizens of Kyrgyzstan, and we are all one. We do not have another state; we have only one state” said Marlen Mamataliev.
As a reminder, for the opening ceremony of Yrys Ordo Congress Center on August 24, President Zhaparov explicitly invited numerous political figures, former officials, and political opponents to the event. He addressed the fact that some attendees carry the stigma of past criminal records, imprisonments, or controversial political backgrounds, emphasizing that their historic contributions to the state cannot be completely erased.
