Bishkek, March 31, 2026. /Kabar/. In addition to national driver's licenses, citizens of Kyrgyzstan have access to international driver's licenses. Tynychbek Saidov, Director of the State Center for Registration of Vehicles and Drivers (Unaa), announced this at press conference in Kabar news agency.
According to him, international driver's licenses are produced in strict compliance with the requirements of the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic.
The document is an A6-sized booklet with established international content and technical parameters. International driver's permit is issued for a period of three years.
It is noted that an international driver's permit is only valid with a valid national driver's license.
"I recommend obtaining an international driver's permit for those citizens planning to travel to countries that do not recognize the Vienna Convention. This will ensure the legality of driving abroad," emphasized Tynychbek Saidov.
The head of the state agency also shared current statistics on document renewals within the country. According to him, since the beginning of 2026, 380,000 applications have already been received to replace old-style, permanent driver's licenses with new ones.
