Bishkek, Oct. 30, 2026 /Kabar/. AKFA Glass, a Kyrgyz-Uzbek joint venture that manufactures glass and aluminum window and door systems, has begun supplying its products to the State Mortgage Company (SMC). Ravshanbek Sabirov, head of the National Investment Agency told as part of the "Open Cabinet: Territory of Responsibility" project.
According to him, the agreement to establish the joint venture was reached in 2021 during the visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Zhaparov, to Tashkent.
"The investment in the enterprise totaled $5.5 million. It opened in August 2026 and is already producing and supplying window and door systems to the State Mortgage Company. Currently, the enterprise meets 15–20% of market demand. There are about three other manufacturers with a similar profile in Kyrgyzstan," Sabirov noted.
The enterprise has created approximately 100 jobs. It employs local residents, with an average monthly salary of 50,000 soms.
The head of the agency stated that more than 37 projects, with a total value of approximately $100 million, are being implemented through the Kyrgyz-Uzbek Development Fund.
Furthermore, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan intend to expand industrial cooperation, as well as the export of Kyrgyz meat and dairy products to the Uzbek market.
"The presidents of the two countries have agreed to increase trade turnover from the current $1.2 billion to $2 billion. To achieve this, it is necessary to develop joint industrial enterprises and expand the export of domestic products," Sabirov emphasized.
He also reported that more than 100 industrial enterprises have already opened in Kyrgyzstan this year. Plans are in place to launch over 30 additional production facilities by the end of the year. Looking ahead, the goal is to open at least 100 enterprises annually.
