Bishkek, Sept. 14, 2026 /Kabar/. Chairman of the Board of Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC Kubat Abdraimov held a meeting with Chairman of the Board of AzerGold CJSC Zakir Ibragimov, who headed the delegation of the Azerbaijani company as part of a working visit to Kyrgyzstan, the board of directors reported.

According to the company, during the meeting, the parties discussed issues arising from the memorandum of cooperation and collaboration between Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC and AzerGold CJSC, signed on July 31, 2026, in Cholpon-Ata during the third meeting of the Interstate Council of Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, with the participation of the heads of state.

The meeting focused on prospects for developing mutually beneficial cooperation in the mining industry, implementing joint projects, attracting investment, and exchanging experience in geological exploration, mining, and processing.

Kubat Abdraimov, Chairman of the Board of Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC, noted that over the past five years, Kyrgyzstan's mining industry has become one of the leading sectors of the country's economy.

He stated that, starting in 2020, large-scale reforms have been implemented in the industry aimed at improving efficiency, attracting investment, and developing international cooperation.

Kubat Abdraimov briefed the Azerbaijani side on the ongoing transformations at Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC, the improvement of the state-owned company's structure, the expansion of its subsidiaries' capabilities, as well as the current project portfolio and new areas of activity.

The chairman of the Board of Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC emphasized the company's interest in expanding international partnerships and implementing new investment projects.

Particular attention was paid to cooperation with AzerGold CJSC.

Abdraimov noted that the Azerbaijani side's proposal for developing cooperation and mutual support was positively received by Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC.

According to him, the negotiations have created opportunities for the emergence of new areas of cooperation, as well as the joint consideration of promising projects in Kyrgyzstan's mining sector.

In turn, AzerGold CJSC Chairman of the Board Zakir Ibrahimov noted that, thanks to the leadership and political will of the heads of state, friendly and fraternal relations have been established between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, creating favorable conditions for expanding economic ties, including partnership in the mining industry.

Zakir Ibrahimov presented information on AzerGold CJSC's experience in geological exploration, deposit assessment, production, and processing.

The Azerbaijani side also reported on geological exploration work in the liberated economic regions of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur and the use of modern aeromagnetic and other non-invasive exploration methods.

It was noted that AzerGold CJSC views expansion of its operations outside of Azerbaijan as a strategic priority and is exploring the possibility of implementing joint mining and geological exploration projects in Central Asia.

It is noted that following the meeting, Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC and AzerGold CJSC agreed to continue cooperation in areas of mutual interest and to explore opportunities for expanding cooperation through the implementation of specific joint projects.
