Bishkek, July 29, 2026 /Kabar/. The Tolomush Okeev National Film Studio Kyrgyzfilm will present the full-length historical drama film "Zhusup," dedicated to one of the founders of Kyrgyz statehood, the outstanding Kyrgyz statesman Zhusup Abdrakhmanov.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy, the film tells the story of the historical events of the first half of the 20th century and the role of Zhusup Abdrakhmanov in the development of Kyrgyz statehood, as well as his devotion to his people.

The film meticulously recreates the atmosphere of the 1920s and 1930s. Filming took place in Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.

The film was directed by honored cultural figure of Kyrgyzstan Taalaibek Kulmendeev. The project was implemented by the Tolomush Okeev National Film Studio "Kyrgyzfilm" with the support of the cinematographydepartment of under the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The national premiere of "Zhusup" will take place on August 25, 2026. The screening is timed to coincide with the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Kyrgyz Republic, the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Kyrgyz ASSR, and the 125th anniversary of the birth of Zhusup Abdrakhmanov.
