Bishkek, July 21, 2026. /Kabar/. Minister of Health Damir Osmonov presented the country's road safety initiatives at a high-level meeting held at the UN headquarters in New York.
According to the department, the minister said that Kyrgyzstan, within the framework of the National Development Strategy, sets a main goal of reducing the number of road traffic fatalities by 50 percent by 2027.
"According to the results of 2025, 8,456 road accidents were registered in the republic, as a result of which 900 people died and more than 12,000 citizens were injured. No healthcare system can solve the problem of road injuries on its own. Only by strengthening interdisciplinary cooperation can we achieve our common goal of saving lives," said Damir Osmonov.
