Bishkek, Sept. 25, 2026 /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan and Cyprus discussed boosting trade and economic cooperation, including in the areas of investment, tourism, agriculture, transport and logistics, energy, and information technology, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
Cooperation issues were discussed on September 24 in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus Constantinos Kombos.
The parties noted the importance of further developing Kyrgyz-Cypriot relations, as well as continuing the political dialogue and making it more regular and substantive.
The Kyrgyz side proposed holding the first round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries and expressed interest in expanding the bilateral legal framework.
In addition, the parties discussed Kyrgyzstan's cooperation with the European Union and the ratification of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Jeenbek Kulubaev invited the Cypriot side to participate in the Second Global Mountain Summit "Bishkek +25," which will take place in 2027.
