Bishkek, Oct. 6, 2026 /Kabar/. Minister of Energy Altynbek Rysbekov met with Hammad Hundal, Head of the Regional Hub of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group.

According to the ministry, the parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation and the IsDB Group's participation in implementing projects within Kyrgyzstan's energy sector.

They noted the IsDB's significant involvement in the international CASA-1000 project and the financing of energy infrastructure facilities, including the construction of the 220 kV "Tamga–Karakol" transmission line, as well as other projects.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed issues regarding the construction of hydroelectric power plants, substations, and transmission lines; the modernization of existing facilities; and the implementation of modern technologies and digital solutions.

"It is important for Kyrgyzstan not only to maintain the current level of partnership but also to move toward implementing new, large-scale projects," Altynbek Rysbekov noted.

Hammad Hundal, in turn, highlighted the IsDB Group's interest in further expanding cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and implementing joint energy projects. Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue joint efforts to develop energy infrastructure and enhance the reliability and efficiency of the country's energy system.
