Bishkek, Aug. 11, 2026. /Kabar/. The Center-2026 joint tactical exercise has begun in Kyrgyzstan, involving up to 500 military personnel from Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
According to the Kyrgyz Ministry of Defense, the opening ceremony took place on August 11 at military unit 20636.
The maneuvers involve up to 100 pieces of weapons and military equipment, combat FPV drones, and army aviation from both countries.
The opening ceremony was attended by exercise director Almazbek Kozhoshev, senior military contingent member of the Russian Armed Forces, deputy commander of the 201st Military Base Dmitry Lakeev, and the chief of staff of the Balykchy mayor's office, Gulnara Kukeeva.
The joint tactical exercise "Center-2026" is being held from August 11 to 17 as part of bilateral cooperation between the defense ministries of Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
