Bishkek, Aug. 5, 2026 /Kabar/. State Agency for Civil Service and Local Self-Government held a meeting with a delegation from the South Korean Official Development Assistance (ODA) monitoring mission in Bishkek.
According to the agency's press service, the delegation included representatives of the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and independent experts. The meeting was attended by Myktybek Omurzakov, Head of the Agency's Human Resources Policy Department, who noted the importance of further strengthening development cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and South Korea.
Lee Ye-seung, State Advisor to the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, presented information on the objectives of the monitoring mission, the work being carried out, and prospects for further cooperation.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current status of the Saemaul Undong project in Kyrgyzstan, its results, and future development directions.
The participants noted the project's contribution to the sustainable development of rural areas, increasing the potential of local communities, and improving the quality of life of the population. Opportunities for disseminating the project's successful experience in other regions of the country were also discussed.
The parties expressed interest in further strengthening the partnership between Kyrgyzstan and South Korea and continuing joint development initiatives.
The Saemaul Undong project is a national program of South Korea that has been successfully implemented for the development of rural areas. The project is based on the principles of mutual assistance, solidarity, and hard work.
