Bishkek, July 20, 2026. /Kabar/. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has announced an international photo contest, "Life on Mountain Pastures," dedicated to the International Year of Mountains 2026, Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy reports.
The main goal of the competition is to use photography to showcase to the global public the unique features of life on mountain pastures in various regions of the world, including traditional livestock farming, seasonal migrations, local knowledge passed down from generation to generation, and the work associated with pastoral culture.
Photographs that capture the uniqueness of mountain pastures, people's daily lives, the harmonious interaction between humans and nature, and the cultural and natural heritage of mountain regions are eligible for participation.
Applications for the international photo competition are accepted until August 10, 2026.
