Bishkek, June 11, 2026 /Kabar/. First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Daniyar Amangeldiev attended the 20th anniversary of the EU Aviation Safety List in Brussels, as a distinguished guest and delivered a welcoming speech.
The event was attended by European Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism Apostolos Tzitzikostas, the leadership of the European Commission, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and representatives of partner country aviation administrations and international industry organizations.
In his speech, Daniyar Amangeldiev noted Kyrgyzstan's significant progress in reforming its civil aviation system, emphasizing that the reforms have brought the national regulatory system into line with international standards, strengthened government oversight, and improved flight safety.
He also expressed gratitude to the European Commission, the European Aviation Safety Agency, and the International Civil Aviation Organization for their long-standing constructive cooperation and support for the ongoing reforms. He noted that Kyrgyzstan views the recent decision to remove Kyrgyzstan from the European Union's Air Safety List as a new stage in its cooperation with European partners, noting that the development of modern and sustainable transport links is key to the country's real economic growth.
During the visit, Daniyar Amangeldiyev also held a bilateral meeting with Apostolas Tsitsikostas to discuss prospects for further cooperation in civil aviation, transport connectivity, and sustainable transport. Kyrgyz side confirmed its interest in further expanding cooperation with the European Union, including developing air links between Kyrgyzstan and EU member states and deepening cooperation with the European Aviation Safety Agency.
European Commissioner noted Kyrgyzstan's significant progress in reforming the aviation sector, emphasizing the high level of reforms carried out and the strong political commitment of the country's leadership to implementing these changes in line with international standards.
Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to further strengthen their constructive partnership.
