Bishkek, July 14, 2026. /Kabar/. Deputy Speaker of Jogorku Kenesh Bolot Ibragimov met with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Kyrgyzstan Latif Seyfaddin oglu Gandilov.
As reported by the parliament, during the meeting, the parties discussed issues of developing cooperation between the two countries, including enhancing interparliamentary ties.
Deputy Speaker Bolot Ibragimov shared his thoughts on developing partnership: "We are interested in strengthening friendly and fraternal relations with Azerbaijan based on historical, cultural and spiritual ties," he said.
Noting the need to deepen inter-parliamentary cooperation, the Deputy Speaker added that Jogorku Kenesh seeks to further expand the established cooperation with the Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan.
"We attach particular importance to further strengthening the activities of parliamentary friendship groups, organizing mutual visits of deputies, especially cooperation between sectoral committees of the two parliaments," said Bolot Ibragimov, also focusing on partnership within the framework of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic States.
He noted that the organization plays a significant role in developing inter-parliamentary dialogue between the Turkic states, as well as in strengthening political, economic and humanitarian ties.
In turn, Ambassador Latif Seyfaddin oglu Gandilov also expressed Azerbaijan's interest in further developing cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in all areas, including strengthening inter-parliamentary ties.
The ambassador also informed about the nomination of the Chairperson of the Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan, Sahiba Gafarova, for the post of President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
