Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan to strengthen statistical cooperation

Bishkek, Aug. 3, 2026 /Kabar/. The memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening cooperation in official statistics between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan will take the partnership between the statistical services of the two countries to a new level. Baktybek Kudaibergenov, Chairman of the National Statistical Committee told Kabar.

According to him, the memorandum aims to develop cooperation between the statistical agencies of the two countries, expand the exchange of internationally comparable information on socio-economic indicators, and strengthen interaction in the field of official statistics.

"The document was signed between the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan and the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan during the state visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Kyrgyzstan. Under the memorandum, the parties will cooperate in implementing international statistical standards, applying modern methodologies, sharing experiences, participating in international technical programs, conducting research, and implementing joint projects," said Kudaibergenov.

As a reminder, on July 30, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Kyrgyzstan on a state visit. Following the visit, a number of bilateral documents were signed. Among them, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening cooperation in the field of official statistics.
