Bishkek, Sept. 24, 2026 /Kabar/. Akyl Toktobaev, the Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of Kyrgyzstan, participated in the Fourth Leaders' Meeting of the Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF) on September 23, held on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
According to the Ministry of Natural Resources, the minister emphasized in his address the need to expand access for climate-vulnerable countries to affordable, predictable, and long-term climate finance. Akyl Toktobaev noted that Kyrgyzstan is consistently establishing a national framework for climate-resilient development, including its NDC 3.0, the Concept for Achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2050, the Climate Investment Program for 2026–2030, and the Green Taxonomy.
Particular attention was paid to the Vulnerability to Viability Compact (V2V Compact), which Kyrgyzstan views as a key tool for transitioning from policy commitments to practical mechanisms for expanding access to climate finance.
