On April 22, the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan held a bilateral meeting between Deputy Minister Almaz Turgunbaev, Deputy Minister of Transport of the People's Republic of China Li Yang, and representatives of the Chinese automobile transport delegation.
According to the ministry, a number of important issues regarding the development of bilateral cooperation in automobile transport were discussed during the meeting.
In particular, the parties discussed the possibility of Kyrgyzstan joining the intergovernmental agreement on international road transport along the Asian Highway network between China, Russia, and Mongolia. The issue of special permits to Kyrgyz carriers for the transportation of oversized cargo through China was also discussed.
Furthermore, they discuss issues related to the entry of Kyrgyz passenger vehicles into China, as well as the operation of Chinese taxis in Kyrgyzstan.
The meeting also discussed the preparation of permit forms for the agreement on international road transport between Kyrgyzstan, China, and Uzbekistan.
