Bishkek, Aug. 21, 2026 /Kabar/. On August 20, Bishkek held roundtable discussion on the National Strategy for the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) under development at the center for healthcare development and medical technologies under the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan.
The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Health Gulbara Ishenapyssova, representatives of government agencies, the World Health Organization (WHO), and development partners.
The main goal of the roundtable was to strengthen collaboration and coordination between government agencies, the WHO, and development partners in implementing the National Strategy for the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases.
The discussion addressed the key priorities and indicators of the National Strategy, as well as ongoing and planned initiatives by partners in the area of NCD prevention and control.
Participants also discussed the possibility of integrating partner initiatives into a unified implementation and monitoring system at the national level.
Participants emphasized the importance of collaboration between government agencies, international organizations, and development partners for the effective implementation of measures to prevent and control NCDs.
The roundtable discussed the key provisions of the National Strategy, proposals, and recommendations from stakeholders, and provided an opportunity to exchange views on further steps for its implementation.
Following the event, proposals were developed to improve the National Strategy and ensure its effective implementation, and key areas for further cooperation were identified.
