Kyrgyzstan, France discuss opening of direct flights and creation of cultural centers

Bishkek, March 9, 2026. /Kabar/. Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Marlen Mamataliev received Ambassador of France to Kyrgyzstan Nicolas Faye.

According to the Kyrgyz Parliament, the parties shared their thoughts on the opening of direct flights and the creation of cultural centers between the two countries.

They also discussed the development of political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries and discussed strengthening interparliamentary ties.

Marlen Mamataliev noted that Kyrgyzstan is interested in expanding cooperation with France in all areas.

"In particular, deepening trade and economic ties is of particular importance to us, as there are significant opportunities here. Furthermore, we need to work together in environmental protection, tourism development, and strengthening digitalization policies," he said.

The speaker emphasized the important role of parliamentary diplomacy in developing partnerships and emphasized the need to organize bilateral meetings and visits between parliamentarians. He also expressed the view that expanding interaction between parliamentary friendship groups is a necessity.

Ambassador Nicolas Faye noted the importance of Marlen Mamataliev's proposals and shared his own initiatives for expanding Kyrgyz-French cooperation.

The ambassador added that special attention will be paid to deepening interparliamentary ties, as cooperation in this area is crucial for the successful implementation of the agreements reached.
