Kyrgyzstan grants Kairylman status to 387 ethnic Kyrgyz

Bishkek, Aug. 10, 2026 /Kabar/. In Kyrgyzstan, 387 ethnic Kyrgyz received Kairylman status in the first seven months of 2026. Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration informs.

The ministry noted that since independence, more than 90,000 ethnic Kyrgyz have resettled to Kyrgyzstan, of which approximately 70,000 have already become citizens.

Kairylman status is granted by a special interdepartmental commission, which includes representatives of the State Committee for National Security, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration, and the State Institution "Kyzmat" under the presidential administration of Kyrgyzstan. The application review period is three months.

During the reporting period, ethnic Kyrgyz from the following countries received Kairylman status:

Uzbekistan — 16 people;

Tajikistan — 351 people;

China — 10 people;

Russia — 5 people;

Afghanistan — 1 person;

Other countries — 4.

In accordance with Kyrgyz law, Kairylmans are provided social guarantees and benefits practically equal to those of Kyrgyz citizens. Holders of Kairylman status are entitled to social benefits, pensions, healthcare, education, and employment in Kyrgyzstan.

It is clarified that the Kairylman certificate is issued for a period of three years. During this period, holders of the status must apply for Kyrgyz citizenship.
